Hi Picobelly Chefs!

Showing how delicious your meals are through a screen can pose a challenge! We want to give you some tips and tricks to help you create a meal listing that looks as tasty as your meal! Let’s have a look.

Meal listings as delicious as your meal!

It can be quite difficult to make a beautiful looking meal listing. The picture of your meal is the one thing that stands out the most! People do eat with their eyes first. That is why we want to help you by giving you some tips! We are here to show you how easy it can be to shoot beautiful meal pictures.

Once the plating is done, it is now time for the photoshoot! The easiest way is to use your phone to take a picture! Grab your delicious-looking plated meal, and try to find a spot where there is natural sunlight. Hold your plate in one hand in the light, while you place your phone on top of your meal (beware that the shadow of your hand and phone is not in the picture). There you have it, your perfect photo to showcase your delicious meal!

Your food box to give to your customer

There are two things you must consider when offering your customers your delicious food box. One is the plating of the food box. We suggest you take some time to place the food nicely in the boxes! For the plating tips, scroll above to the previous section.

The other one is how much food you should give to your customers. We have realized that it is quite hard to determine how much food you should put in the food boxes. You don’t know how much your customer eats, but you don’t want them to be still hungry after eating your meal. For the quantity, keep in mind that the person who orders from you should be feeling satisfied, and not hungry anymore afterward. We let you decide how much you will put into the food boxes. Listen carefully to your customer’s feedback if the portion was not big enough!

Your food story

The food story is where you explain why you like the dish that you have prepared for others. It’s what you have experienced with the meal! This is where your meal comes alive! We have a few helpful questions to guide you through your memories, and help you create your own food stories! Of course, feel free to write what is special for you about the meal that you have prepared! :) We can’t wait to hear about your memories.

Food story questions

  • What is the meal, where is it from?
  • Do you have a precious memory with this dish?
